Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Burning before period?
Does anyone else's vagina burn right before they get their period? This happens to me EVERY SINGLE TIME! And it feels borderline yeast infection (tho it isn't) does anyone know why this happens or what I can do about it? So friggin annoying! It goes away right when I start and then other horrific events happen lol

Yes..
Mine is always the worst right before my period. That is part of why I always wondered if it was hormone related..

Re: Burning before period?
Mine is just burning and itching, I know how terrible it is...you're right it feels a lot like a yeast infection, but isn't.

Re: Burning before period?
I also feel the burn before my period. Only when I first get my period though, not through out the entire time. I hate to get gross on you all, but I think it's just the pre- period blood, the brown stuff, that bothers me the most. I would agree that blood is a irritant. Especially if you wear pads it can be very irritating. They used to get kind of stuck to me because the blood would dry on my skin. Not fun!

Re: Burning before period?
I'm glad you asked this question. I posted a similar question before I saw this. After quitting birth control I had my first period in 8 months, and a few days before it started I had burning at the vaginal entrance. Towards the end of my period it got bad, and I thought I had a yeast infection and treated it as such. Now, about a week after my period ended I'm still having burning and irritation, but its lessened each day. Hormones, maybe? I'm so scared this is going to happen every period.

Re: Burning before period?
Probably. Unfortunately I had the surgery so it's not v related for me but hormones def play a role in this id say try drinking a lot of water, keep clean and don't eat a lot of sugar before your period. Mine was actually a yeast infection so now that we know I have chronic yeast, I can be treated and my period this time was a breeze. But for me with the v it was burning yeast ess itchy I can tell the difference now but its hard to explain... but that happened to me and it sucked ugh

Re: Burning before period?
If you don't mind me asking, what treatment did you do for chronic yeast? I am going to make an appt with my doctor tomorrow, but in the meantime I'm just curious. I feel that this may be my issue as well, since my troubles began after taking 5 different antibiotics for bacteria that may or may not have been there. I've taken two separate rounds of week long fluconazole (1 pill a day for seven days), one of which i just finished, and am still having irritation... I'm at the point where I'm wondering if 1) the fluconazole works at all, 2) if its even yeast, and 3) if fluconazole is a trigger and its making things worse.

Re: Burning before period?
I did 5 rounds of diflucan every other day along with a.compound for 7 days. Now I use the compound once a week and the pill every other week for 2 months. Than after two months both compound and pill once a month. Just make sure its yeast dont take stuff just because
