Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

I am really freaking out right now.Opinions needed!
Crap. After my shower today I found a big black looking vein on my labia. sorry, I know it's TMI. It hurts like crazy if I touch it!!!!! It is on one side only, swollen and creepy-looking. I thought varicose veins aren't supposed to hurt like crazy! I'm not pregnant, so why would it appear? It was there when my pain problem started as well.... ?

Do you?
Do you stand on your feet a lot (ie have a job that requires you to stand)? Or do you strain when you have bowel movements? I have a small purple vein, but I have had two children and am guessing it's from that.

none of those apply to me and never had any children ... I'd complained about my "painful veins" before, but of course, doctors are useless

When I first got 'V' I had what I can only describe as bright red railway track looking lines on my left thigh to my vulva. I think it sounds like yours is going along with the 'V', just another weird side effect I think.

Please try and not panic I would bet its just a 'V' weird symptom. I have researched stuff and had myself with so many bad diseases but of course it turned out to be 'V'. Try not to focus the mind on it, I know that is hard but please try to not keep thinking about it. I bet its gone in a couple of days xxxx

Go to a doctor and stay off of google. You seriously can over research diseases and think you have anything. For what purpose? You need to be properly diagnosed and not diagnose yourself. The internet is seriously the worst thing ever because our symptoms sound like a variety of things. And if you researched say the flu, you could convince yourself you have AIDS when in fact you have the flu. Its great to be informed but when you have no idea whats going on youre going to lead yourself in panic. Trust me I have 3 other diseases besides v and they mimic vag cancer. My doc told me to stay off the internet because I was going to freak myself out. The best thing to do is get medical advice. No one here can tell you either and the more someone says "this is blah blah" you're going to find a way to either say no or be like SHIT I have this when it could just be you over exerted yourself. Right now I feel like my v came back but its only I had too much sex with my boyfriend and the last.time just hurt too much. But I could also look up symptoms online and think my v is coming back. Relax go to the doctor see what they say and than freak out or treat it. Could be a very easy fix and you're shedding years of your life for no reason.

You're right, Alana & Zarli. I've had the veins before and they went away....with nerve pain and dysfunction you can have a lot of variable symptoms which mimic other conditions.... I 'll try and see my GP again, I pray I get someone with a brain this time who listens.
My amitriptyline is making me cry out of the blue now, so I have two issues for my doc!
I think for us girls, we'll always be a little fragile after such a huge ordeal with chronic pain, we need to remember to take things easy even when we think we are feeling better. On the bright side, I have had zero pain for a week now and can sit down without feeling I am squashing my private parts!
wishing you lovely girls a great week!
