Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hi everyone, this all started for me about five months ago, and I am 42. I had sex with a new partner and a few days later I was red inflammed and on fire down there. Went to the DR did cultures and it came back as yeast, gave me diflucan and got better but not fully. I then got bronchitis and got a RX for Zythromax and after that and my period the same symptoms game back.I got two doses of Diflucan and same thing better but still minor irritation. I decided to see another DR after my period and he said no its BV, but I had no odor I was confused but did the Metrogel and that made it a little worse then he put me on Flagyl and thats when it all started....So I finished the Flagyl and said Im still irritated but now for two months, two more DRs and 6 cultures later everthying comes back negative. I havent had sex since the beginning of March. I have my tubes tied. I dont use any harsh soaps..Im VERY careful. Heres my symptoms.....
I can go hours without feeling anything, never had irritation around or in the vagina. Its on the labia minora or right under the hood or clitoris. I sleep well.. Sex never hurts... The q tip test never bothers me, pelvic exams dont bother me but my new doctor says its probably Vulvadonyia....It feeling like a sting that comes and goes or a occasional itch in the areas I mentioned. Im not red or imflammed and the DR say everything looks normal inside and out.. I am symtom free on my heavy days of my period. I take probiotics (femdophilis) Eat healthy , tried Oxalate diet for two weeks, Estrace, Nuerontin, Calicum citrate, Vit E and multi Vit. NOTHING is helping...also my pap came back normal and neg for HPV. and I have been tested for every STD incl HIV several times all Neg.....can anyone help?????THANK YOU

New,Depressed and need help!!!!! Empty Sorry!!

Post  Caropes Sat Jun 21, 2014 11:12 pm

Hi and sorry for your pain!! I don't have the same symptoms you do, but my constant aching, pain came on after two back to back treatments for BV with Metrogel and Flagyl. (With many other treatments within the past two years.) I don't have pain on the inside and don't have trouble with tampons, etc. My pain is in the vulvar region and is constant! I did have pain with the Q-tip test and was diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis. My Gyno, who is terrible, gave me Neurontin, I have been on it for three weeks with minimal results. I am also on Calcium citrate, Magnesium, Fem-dophilus, multi vitamin and am trying the low-oxalate diet. I don't think any of these things are working though. I had the severe depression, lost 12 pounds in two weeks and went to a very dark place for a few weeks.

I have researched the hell out of v.v. and vulvodynia since my Gyno seems completely incompetent. A lot of women have found relief with Amitrityline and Lyrica. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about that? I am currently trying to get a referral to a new Gyno in hopes of trying these meds. It is a terrible thing to have! I was really happy when I found this website and forum. It really helped me a lot.

So, if you would like to email me directly, please feel free! My name is Cathy and my email is caropes32@hotmail.com. Sorry, I can't give you any more info. Where are you from? I live in lower Alabama.

New,Depressed and need help!!!!! Empty vovulvodinia

Post  kks224 Mon Jun 23, 2014 3:17 am

I have found a specialist at the Medical Center of Houston, Texas, Baylor Women's Clinic. She is fabulous. She has assured me that this condition is a trial and error situation. She understands very well what the pain is. She is the first specialist in strictly vaginal disorders I have found. She has enrolled me in physcal therapy for this, because vulvodynia being a nerve ending disorder confuses the avg. gyn. I am using several creams and the physical therapist told me the nerve endings "piss of the internal muscles' and get them irritated. Thus the therapy. The neurontin make me have gastric pain. But, I truly believe the Dr. is on her way to helping me. Some of the other antipressants are supposed to help this condition. Right now I use a sterioid cream, premarin cream, fagiflem, and a lidocain deading ointment. She as also prescribed 500 mg. of Naproxen for pain. Hopes this helps someone.

Have you had blood tests done? You say that your problem eases on your period. Have you had your hormones checked and thyroid, pituarity gland ect?

I am starting to wonder if my problem is hormonal too. Now apparantly a run-of-the-mill blood test wont show hormone imbalance majority of the time. Apparantly you need to do a sailva hormone test and a 24hour urine test as well as getting a blood test every week to check your cycle.

You say it is up near your clitoris....is it possible that your urine is irritating your skin in that area?
