Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Alternative to pads and tampons?
Many of us have posted with regards to the irritation caused by tampons and pads (even the cotton ones)
So i was looking online for an alternative. "ladycup" and was going through the comments and found this one:
I would just like to thank you so much for your wonderful product. I have four other menstrual cup brands, and the LadyCup is better in every way. I was drawn in by the beautiful colors available, but I know this will be my favorite cup and I will have a hard time to use the others anymore! It is the only menstrual cup I can't feel once it's in, because of the wonderful softness of the silicone. I also love the lack of grip ridges.. those can tend to chafe the bottom of the vagina, so it's wonderful to find a cup without them, and the little bumps provide plenty of grip with no irritation. I have vulvodynia so cup use is hard for me regardless, but I can say with all seriousness that LadyCup is so comfortable that even I can use it with NO pain! So, congratulations on a great design, and I will be spreading the word. From Finland with love. <3
What to you reckon to this method? Anyone tried it? I think tampons are just drying me out and pads feel like sandpaper.

Re: Alternative to pads and tampons?
Ugh, I know your pain there.
I tried out a Mooncup for a bit before I developed vulvodynia, but I've been too scared to use it since it developed as the thickness of the rim meant that putting it in and removing it could be tricky and painful sometimes (suction can be awkward!). I'm not sure if this was just a size issue with me or because I hadn't gotten used to using it with ease yet, but it's put me right off trying it again. So I'm sticking to pads for now because they're relatively less irratating than tampons. =(
On the other hand it is possible that the issues I've had with that cup are mostly due it's thickness (especially the rim), maybe a ladycup would be easier to use. According to testimonials it's one of the softer ones.

Cloth pads!
Get them at a health foods store or organic store...etc etc...yes you need to wash them, but hey, in the process you save money, arent filling up the landfills, and have a lot more comfort overall.

Re: Alternative to pads and tampons?
I have to say I find applicator tampons ok on heavy days but a big no for lighter days. I'm sure I couldn't insert a cup at the moment so that's out. I use Bodyform pads on lighter days because they are soft and don't have the waxy top layer that's full of chemicals. I did try cotton pads and tampons but the tampons were a disaster and most of them got wasted because the applicators wouldn't dispense the tampon and the cotton pads were just expensive and bulky and rubbed mechanically just the same as other pads so I stopped spending extra cash on them. Sorry to all you "green" ladies out there but there's NO way I'm washing cloth pads!!!!

I will probably give these a go at some point, but after I move out of parents' house I reckon, it's just too way awkward for now lol.
