Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Newly diagnosed and i dont understand anything help
Hi Everyone
i dont even know where to start!!
i have been suffering for a long time with very deep and excruitating pain down there and had been refered to the hospital for it to cut a long story short they first said that i had endometriosis, then i didnt then they said i had pelvic inflamatory desase i didnt and then they found large cysts on my ovaries and said that this was normal i was still having a lot of pain so they decided to give me a smear as i was coming up to my first anyway. this came back abnormal and i had severe dsyakariosis. i had an op to remove this however i was still in pain so i went to the GUM clinic and they diagnosed me with this condition.
they gave me a brief outline and told me that i would need to see a specialist but havent had the appointment yet. im just so confused about everything. i was told not to use soap when washing which i have stopped doing however i find that im starting to smell and i am already paranoid about it all i just want to cry.
if anyone can give me any infomation i would be really grateful thanks for reading

Hi and welcome. Have a good look around and read everything you can possibly find to educate yourself, with the lack of help and knowledge from doctors we need to make sure we know as much as possible. There's loads of advice on here and if you want to know anything that's not coveed just ask, we're all here to help each other.

Re: Newly diagnosed and i dont understand anything help
Hi Natalie,
I know this condition can be overwhelming at first but we are the experts. As Sarah said read everything you can on here. It can seem a lot of information but it is all worth reading. It seems for different women there are different things coming into play: nerves, muscles, tissues, skin, infection, and irritation or for most....a combination of all of these. It also seems a lot of problems such as endo, cysts, yeast, uti's, tmj, fibro (to name a few) coexist with this condition so you are not alone there.
Vulvodynia just means vulva pain. Don't get hung up on the diagnosis. It’s what the docs call is when they have run out of ideas. The key is to finding what causes pain and treating each individual component.
A women’s health physio in my opinion is the best place to start. All the 'specialists' I have seen just want to shove pills down my throat claiming this is nerve damage. There well may be, but I bet you your muscles down there aren't to happy either. This can cause pain to continue.
As for soap Aveeno fragrance free wash is perfect. Cleans well and does not irritate what so ever.
Any questions just ask, we all help each other.
