Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

I got diagnosed FINALLY today - chronic eczema and vestibulodynia (as well as the endometrial cyst, possible endo and fibroid they found last week - yep none of it seems to work)- I cannot tell you how relieved and happy I am to finally get told that it was not thrush or HPV or herpes that I had managed to never notice before or just something I would have to live with as they couldn't tell me what it was

My doctor was absolutely fantastic - and she diagnosed me straight off - no biopsy - no agonising speculum trauma and LOTS of sympathy. This was in contrast to the rough, bad tempered consultant I had had previously who had me sobbing for half an hour in his office and the assisting nurse kindly telling me that "some people are just better at handling pain than others dear"

Its taken about 15 years to get my diagnosis and I am over the moon although I am fully aware that now the hard work begins!

The only issue is that its unclear whether I have thrush as well which could be triggering the eczema- I have to wait until I am actually having sex and having a real big flare up to really pin it down. This fills me with trepidation as although I would love to have an intimate relationship again it also terrifies me!

Would love to hear from anyone who has any advice on how to broach this with a new partner and when is a good time to do so... It has caused me so many problems with partners in the past that a single status has been my preferred option for a large portion of my adult life

Thanks again to the creator of this site for letting me know I am not the only one!
