Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hey there! I'm a newbie who needs help and advice and some kind of reasurance this is gonna get better!
Hey everyone! My names Kel and I'm 31yrs old. I live in a town called Scunthorpe which is in North Lincs, Uk.
I hope anyone who reads this is well and happy? I'm kinda new to this, I've had what can only be described as migraine of the vagina with all the trimmings for 8 weeks now. After being laughed at and declared a nut job by my doctor who reluctantly referred me to a gyno I cried all the way to my local GUm clinic who ran all the tests they could which came back negative, thye were lovely to me though and examined me, which is more than my doctor did. They found two tiny tiny blisters inside which they swabed and tested for herpes, which came back negative, although at the time i felt relief that there was something there i became very depressed shortly afterwards.
My appointment for the gyno finally came round and she was lovely, so understanding even as i cried through the examination. She went out of her way to help me. She prescibed gabapentin and some oestrogen pessaries to take, which so far have helped slightly. She said it wouldnt be an overnight fix but it would help and it gave me some hope of being "Normal" again. Fingers crossed things will get better.
I dont even know what the cause of this was? I swapped contraceptive pills while taking antibiotics for broncitus, plus i guess ive been run down and stressed?
Anyway, if theres any advice anyone can give me? even if its just to say bthings will get better? Ive been off work for 6 weeks and due back soon but im scared to, i havent even been outside except to the docs or gynos. I'm babbling now I know! Hope to hear from someone, take care, Kel x

Hi there.
I read your story. I live in the US. I've had vv for about 5 yrs and I'm 50.
I hope your situation is something that will pass and that you don't really have vulvodynia.
I know It's depressing. I think finding this site will help you. It's nice to know you can talk to others that
can relate. I was really depressed at first but have come along way. Actually I have felt better the past two
weeks than I have in five yrs.
Try to read up and keep going to the doctor untill you get some relief. And don't think that you can't be happy
after this. All of us women on this site deserve love and happiness. We shouldn't be short changed or feel like we
should accept any less because of the condition.
You will get thru this. Your depression will go away and will be able to return to work.
Contact a therapist if you need to. You're very young and have alot of life a head of you.
And you can always come to this site for support and compassion.
We all send you hugs.
Hope you feel better really soon.

Hey! Thank you so much for replying! I'm feeling a lot brighter today so fingers crossed and lets see what tomorrow brings. I really hope that its me talking and not the meds!
You must be really brave to have handled this for so long. How do you cope with things? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've just ordered some spray which is 10% ligdnocaine but i'm unsure wether it would take my skin off and give me more problems!
