Has anyone had any success with Neurontin. I started it a week ago. Nothing yet.

Went to my third gyn last friday and she prescribed neurontin, and flexeril. I have been taking it for a week now but no relief. My burning starts up about an hour after I get out of bed and then goes away sometimes during the night after I'm asleep. I am also using estrace cream, pea size to the vulva everyday. I can't find anyone on the site about Neurontin, but I'm sure I didn't check all the way back. Hoping someone recently has had success. Thanks.

Hi im pretty new to the board. I have had vulvodynia for 7 yrs now. It was attributed to pelvic floor spasms . As long as I kept the spasms away. MY vulvodynia stayed away . I was using 10mg nortriptlyine 1x day and 2mg valium 3x a day. as well as physical therapy. I would have flares now and then but was able to keep it under control

any way to answer your question I have been having a terrible flare since sept. My dr did try and put me on 300 m,g neurontin 1x a day. I did not do well on it . The first day I had the worst headache of my life and was in bed all day. By the third day I was completely numb. NO pain at all. HOwever I was numb in not only in my vulva but other areas too. I realized when brushing my teeth, I couldnt feel the inside of my mouth. Sometimes other parts of my body were numb also. He took me off it. NOw im wondering if maybe the dose was just too high and he should have tried a lower dose.
