Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Ok done that one! Quite a long one girls if you're going to do it so leave a bit of time. Also don't forget to mention all those so called specialists who have treated you badly!

Re: Survey about how you feel you are treated by doctors
Hi there,
I'm new and will post my "story" when I'm not on my lunch break from work
I did this survey a few weeks ago. I downloaded the pain journal when I had completed it and have found it to be a VERY useful tool to take to Dr's appointments. My pain therapist asked me to do a journal so we had something to gauge any "progress" by. I was floundering a bit until I found this format.
It's great for specialists appointments because you have documented the good/bad days with potential contributing factors when sometimes it's hard to remember. There is a downside however sometimes I don't want to tune into what's going on down there and have been learning meditation to tune it out! Hmmmmm tricky!
I'm not sure if the journal is still there (I'm not doing the survey again to find out, I didn't save it the first time so ended up doing it twice already - lucky for me I have two silent illnesses!) but if it is, go for it and if not I could post it.
cheers me could almost be a mouse

Hi and welcome mouse!! love your username by the way!
Yes the journal is still there, have saved it too my computer havnt yet taken a look at it yet.
I can understand what you say about not wanting to tune into it! Its often the last thing we want to think about!
I did try to keep a diary but lost the motivation for that very reason..it just depressed me but I do know that I should!
Re: Survey about how you feel you are treated by doctors
Thanks, Mouse was my nickname at high school, I think it was a contradiction
I have my therapist tomorrow and have to present my journal for inspection. The last time I went she picked that some of it may be retrospective... I do try to make notes every day.
My best news is my pain resting level (I have generalized unprovoked) has been zero this week! Of course I still have stabbing pain. I know (from keeping the journal) that the start of my cycle and the middle are the worst times. So I'm very hopeful that this is the way forward.
When my resting level was around the 4/10 mark with huge spikes of intensity it was very hard to get through the day. So I'm keeping everything crossed at the moment... yes I can even cross my legs sometimes!

Re: Survey about how you feel you are treated by doctors
I find that the day I come on my period and then the last day of my period and a few days following the end are the worst.
Im so not sure if it has something to do with hormones, the general gripping of the womb or using pads???
Re: Survey about how you feel you are treated by doctors
It's certainly "day one" for me . I don't use pads (generalized) so go the hormones!
