Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Winter Clothes
To all you girls in the UK if you usually wear jeans in the winter and like me will miss them immensely get yourselves to Peacocks and check out their new 24/7 range. They are called denim but are actually the same kind of material as bi-stretch trousers so really stretchy. That of course means not only is the seam nowhere near as thick as jeans but because the trousers give in all directions when you sit down it doesn't ride up into the crotch area! I've bought 3 pairs so far, 2 bootcut for £10 each and one skinny kickflare for £16 and I can actually wear all of them so I look like, and more importantly feel like, I'm still in my usual jeans!! One word of caution though, if like me you are in between sizes try them on! I usually buy a 10 from Peacocks but I had to get the 12 in these to get some extra room to prevent rubbing so do try them. They won't suit everyone but some of you girls may be able to wear them.
I hope you read this message in time though, it's been pretty quiet on here recently except for me and the tumbleweeds and these trousers are selling fast! All the stores within a 35 miles radius of me have sold out now.

Arh fanx Sarah, there is a peacocks near me..Im still wearing leggings..leggings and more leggings!! lol
Re: Winter Clothes
I sometimes wear leggings but I don't find them warm enough in the winter so this stretchy 24/7 range couldn't have come at a better time for me! I'm pretty interested in bootcut leggings but haven't got any yet and those jersey bootcut trousers I've seen in a few places online. I'll update if I buy any, I hate not being able to wear my normal stuff!

Re: Winter Clothes
I think I'm going to skip winter this year and just go right to spring. I wish! Actually, can't complain i have a trip schedule to go to Mexico and then to the Bahamas the following month (during winter). I usually only do one trip. but, we are celebrating our anniversary. i will have to take my pain pills and bring my cushion of the airplane. it will be a painful journey. but..fun!

Re: Winter Clothes
Do people question the pillow Jules? I know people use them for back pain. One of my friends said she went out for dinner with a mate who brought along a cushion because he'd had back surgery.
Lucky you going on holiday I hope you have a fab time! We have our 20 year wedding anniversary next month. It's a surprise to both of us really that my illness(es) probably saved our marriage - who knew I married such a wonderful caring bloke? My hopes of going anywhere exotic hinge on my finding another job after my temporary contract finishes next week. I'm hoping for the UK/Europe in the middle of next year. I'm also hoping to be pain free... we're all due some good luck I think

Re: Winter Clothes
I am embarrassed to bring along my pillows to some meetings. I often wonder what people are thinking. I'm sure my coworkers think i have hemorrhoids. Actually, i had one coworker ask me if it was for my back. I was at a recent training and a woman i had never met told me she wished she would have brought a pillow to the training because the chairs are hard and it is much more comfortable w/ a pillow. 99.5% of people will never ask, of course. who knows what they are thinking. i finally decided that i don't give a shit what people think (most of the time). it is not worth being in horrible pain from sitting. I have taken it on a couple of trips on planes. i get a little embarrassed pulling it out and putting it away...but i'm sure people don't really care about me and my cushion.
we just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. i would have to say i knew my husband was supportive before all of this..but, this disorder is the true test. he gives me pep talks, listens and deals w/ my crabby moods. he has come w/ me to appts. (spinal blocks). marriage "ain't" easy, but you know you're lucky when your husband loves you no matter what!!!
Congrats on your anniversary. i hope you get to go somewhere fun. we have not been on a one week vacation together for years. we do go to Vegas 2x a year or so. it's about a 2-3 hour plane ride. the Mexico trip is w/ my girlfriends....you gotta do that once in awhile too.

Re: Winter Clothes
I'm so jealous you found jeans you could wear!!!
I went and bought leggings the other day which look like jeans. Similar shade but you can tell they're not jeans because my jeans wouldn't look like they were stuck to my skin. Blah.... better than nothing.
I did manage to wear jeans the other day and not feel so "crotchy"... HAHHAHA

Re: Winter Clothes
hello!!
Im here!
Its been all quiet on the treatment front (lack of treatment more like as the consultants are again scratching their heads, or arses...whichever way you look at it!) So yes, the newer (6th/7th consultant i have lost count now) has ground to a halt and therefore Naomi has taken the "head in the sand" coping approach. Which isnt good but im getting out a bit more now and not staying in feeling really low. Its one long old struggle this gynae stuff hey?!
Im getting down to peacocks tomorrow me thinks! I was dead sad the other day and counted my leggings...34 pairs!!! how could that be??! If they go out of fashion im screwed with a capital S!
long skirts are coming back into fashion apparently, so my mum tells me...im not really a skirty lass but im sure i could adapt.
I really am going to bed now, the trouble with this site...i only popped on here for 5 minutes and now an hour and a half later!!! doh!
Gok Wan....man that would be hilarious going on his show! I dont think i could do the naked catwalk though as ive put so much weight on from not working and comfort eating. I wish he was my gay best friend...god i'd love shopping with him!!!

Re: Winter Clothes
Hey Naomi nice to have you back! Those jeans type trousers from Peacocks are excellent, I still have to be a bit careful but truthfully I do whatever I wear. Leggings won't go out of fashion, they've been in fashion since I was about 14 and it was Madonna's heyday so I can't see it happening! I've noticed some long skirts about, I'm not a skirt person either but I'm pondering getting one!
