Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
Another freakin thing to add to this list of V problems...
My urine seems to go haywire before, during, and after period. I experience major burning, frequency (every hour on the hour,) and urgency (I go pee and it feels like I have to go again 15mins later.)
I have a urology appt soon but I want to know if anyone experiences the same thing? And if so, what do you do about these symptoms?
I've read a lot of women with VV also have IC, among other things, so I am familiar with IC symptoms but I have not been diagnosed with any condition. Not yet anyway :-\

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
I have frequency problems especially at night, I go then lay back down then have to get up again and go again...this goes on for an hour or so........until I wake up at 2am in morning and it starts again !!! My Vulva specialist told me Vulvodynia can cause irritable bladder...I take a valium when I need a brake when I am exhausted from it. I work long hours so sleep is important.

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
yup, I just started getting these symptoms as well. Urgency and my clitoris feels swollen ?
Then again, I also take a LOT of meds and my pelvic floor muscles are more tense than concrete.
Also when I cry my whole body spasms and that's not helping anything

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
Oh crap, sorry to hear that MJ. :-[
I feel swollen around the entrance of my vagina and the vulva sometimes. It sounds like nerves if your body spasms when you cry or possibly side effects from one of your meds. I hope you feel better soon.
I went to my urology appt today. I explained my symptoms and he scheduled a cystoscopy (camera up urethra to check out bladder. Anesthesia and all) which does not sound fun. Upside was the Dr wasnt an ass.
The Dr said that I probably have IC but wants to make sure. "Probably" don't do it for me so im glad he ordered the test.
Little side note: Dr asked if I was drinking cranberry juice or taking supplements. I told him no because cranberry causes more irritation. He said that is a dead give away for people with IC. So in summation, if cranberry irritates you more then you should go check it out.

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
yes, I'm sure it;s my nerves firing up all wrong, but my real problem is my bloody Bartholin glands which are kind of swollen and tender and not working properly. I hate them so much. Now I'm waiting to see what's wrong with my bladder. everything hurts: unexplained bruises, muscle aches, TMJ, vulvar pain, fatigue, depression, anxiety, headaches, nausea, panic attacks. I am falling apart.
the only thing that keeps me going is the hope of hearing Bartholin surgery will fix me.
what did we do to deserve this?

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
I think about that all the time. For some reason I think i'm suppose to gather as much information as possible and share my story and others so we can figure out how to recieve treatment. To bring awareness.
Are you anemic? What are your diagnoses so far?

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
I don't know if I'm anemic, my only diagnose is a temporary one. Vulvodynia. But I think I have VVS as well.
No burning, just nerve pain (provoked) and both of my bartholin glands HURT.
It started while I was on yasmin, I developed a small bartholin cyst which ruptured by itself and since it was infected, it irritated the whole gland- - boom- pain !
I know no other girl in my situation. Surgery for the gland could be tricky, I have some internal scar tissue from previous cysts which got lanced.

Re: Urine frequency/urgency/burning problems.
Hmm, and what are you going to try next? Has your Dr suggested anything?
I stay away from birth control. It seems to me they do more harm then good. Just an opinion.
Try and keep your spirits up, be strong no matter how hard it is. We got to help ourselves, no one else is gonna do it. Do the research, read others stories, educate yourself.
Bladder update: Cystoscopy scheduled mid December. Blehh!!!! Ive been taking 2 Aleve per day and it helps (35%) with the urgency and frequency but not with the burning, which is strange. I also read that Benadryl can help with urgency and frequency as well.
