Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Re: Merry Christmas your ass!!!
I had a fab Christmas. I did lunch for my husbands family and we ate in the garden - lovely!
Yes let's make this the year of the cure! I've already pestered my doc for a physio referral and one to a womens health Dr. She is very expensive though and already booked through to March! The initial appointment(if I break my fictional piggy bank or sell one of my children)is for 2 hours so I anticipate quite thorough. I also tried for a referral to the therapist I already see because then it would be funded, no such luck. It's costing a bloody fortune and not covered under my health insurance ggrrrr. Have I mentioned she's the only person keeping me sane?
If I see the new Doc I'm going to be looking at hormone levels?

Re: Merry Christmas your ass!!!
I suggest the selling one of the children option!
Let us know how the consultations go. Its a shame its not covered under your insurance is there anyway you can get round that? I dont know much about insurance as we have the NHS even though it can be well crappy its free. Although I do pay for my own therapist to keep me sane! sod all mental health help on the NHS.
Re: Merry Christmas your ass!!!
I know which child I would pick at the minute as well!
I discovered a few months ago that I have a family member with vaganismus (diagnosed by me) - funny how things make sense after this journey. She's never used tampons and it only occurred to me recently to ask if she could have sex... a resounding NO and she thought that was normal because it's never been pain free. Anyway she's yet to find a the right specialist (I know a good one but has been referred to a therapist so that was free. My Doc just looked confused when I mentioned it.
Sebby have you thought about starting a group on FB? You can make a private group. There are a few already, it would be fun to see peoples cute little faces as well.

Re: Merry Christmas your ass!!!
Naimo made a private group called ladies will la la problems lol I think just me and her joined!
Thats a good idea though except facebook changed the group settings so instead of inviting people to join you just click on them and they are kinda forced to join! lol most people dont seem to like that so I wouldnt go down that road!
It would be good to look into a private group though as the ones I have seen on facebook are not private and I feel that puts alot of people off.
I also had and have Vaganismus and I feel its linked to the eventual Vulvodynia like a precurser to it. There is a good site she can look at
http://www.vaginismus.com/
Re: Merry Christmas your ass!!!
Owww well the one I've just joined (for my other little problem), the admin asked ppl to send their email addresses and she then added them. It's great because it doesn't post on your wall I think people can unlike if they are not keen as well.
Thanks for the info, her pelvic floor shuts down completely so I guess physio is going to help with that. I'm hoping not the surgery route.
I'm going to look that group up now!
