Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

I've read quite promising things about topical gabapentin. Has anyone here had any luck with it? And has anyone managed to get it prescribed in the UK? Either NHS or privately?

As far as i know good old UK doesn't have topical Gabapentin available either on the NHS or privately, remember we are usually a few years behind everywhere else!

I am 26 and have had vulvodynia since I was born and have tried EVERYTHING possible, literally. The only thing that has ever worked was topical gabapentin. It was a pain trying to get my doctor to write me a prescription for it without her knowing anything about it but after me pleading and literally breaking down to her, she wrote me a script for a pharmacy that makes it as a compound. After 1 month, I was pretty much pain free, which was HUGE because I was unable to have sex at all for my whole life due to this. I'm now starting my sex life at 26, dealing with some mental issues regarding what I've been through with the whole thing, but am generally on the right path and thank god that I found this miracle drug.
