Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. 34 Yr Old onset after bad UTI...need advice on tests to run by naturalpath
I am 34 years old. My dad died 7 months ago of short, horrible battle with cancer. After that, my immune system took a crap. A couple months later, I ended up having sex...taking a hot tub bath later in the week with some bath oils...and then I got the worst UTI of my life. After being on antiobiotics for about 5 days, I could tell I was getting some sort of infection. Treated it with OTC Monistat twice in a row, and it wasn't killing it. Then, went on yeast diet and I started to get rid of it. Cheated on my yeast diet, and it came back with a vengeance. So, doctor prescribed me Metro Gel (over the phone--didn't have time to see me)...then prescrived topical steroid over the phone (didn't have time again). Finally 1 1/2 months later he gets me in...and NO evidence of infection. So, here I am now 5 months later and I still have pain. Dr. prescrived 600 mg of Gabapentin. It slowly started working, and by week 6 I was 100% normal. THEN, I get the news that my mom has cancer. I decide to go for a run (with underwear), and immediately afterward I feel the pain come back. As of yesterday, Dr. uppped my dosage to 900 mg...but for some reason I don't think that is going to be the final answer to my problems...but moreso just a 'patch'. My pain doesn't really affect my vagina. It's moreso where the outside of the underwear rub (inner thigh) and down thighs. It's hard to sit because of it. Sex doesn't bother me much. I can't get any doctor to run any tests bsides that first Yeast/Bacteria/STD test. I finally found a homeopathic that i have an appointment with next week. She can take blood, urine, anything I want. I need some recomendations on tests I should start with please! Also, I have started acupuncture and chiro (I was doing that until mom was diagnosed with cancer...adn then I had to stop since she had so many appointments for 3 weeks straight). Also, I am starting a healthy diet again (and taking supplements to boost my immune system (that I read about in the Yeast Infection No More book). I am not taking Yeast Cleanse stuff though. I want to boost immune first.
I had gone to a different naturalpath a couple months ago that hooked me up to some goofy machine that reads your bodies signals from the organs. I guess its something from Europe. It seems sort of quackery. She said my intestines and stomach were sending signals that I have some sort of parasite. I didn't really take her seriously though since I have never seen a machine like that in my life...so I didn't take her herbs.

natural
i have had this condition for 5 years. the only thing that helped me was a natural doctor. I did a parasite cleanse, liver cleanse, yeast cleanse, etc. it did help, although not cure my condition.

raw food
Have you also tried the raw food diet too? Just wondering if the natural doctor had you do that too. I don't know if this has anythign to do with my problem, but I just started measuring the ph of my urine...and its really acidic. I wonder if everyone with V has acidic urine though...

Re: 34 Yr Old onset after bad UTI...need advice on tests to run by naturalpath
I upped my water intake to 80 ounces a day, and ph balanced my water to at least 7. I bought a juicer, and added green veggies to every meal. I reduced my sugar consumption to one cheat day a week.I never drink coffee tea or soda or alcohol. I started this in jan 2010. It reduced my burning, which was three weeks each month (every day but the week out of my period) by about 80%. I also rotated high doses of natural antifungals.
I sometimes seem to have setbacks. I bought a nutrabullet, so yes now I am having some meals raw. its hard to do completely raw though, because even on a loose candida diet, you are so limited (i can't have vinegar, fermented food, dairy, etc.)
I cheated last night with a veggie pizza, It was my one cheat day of the week.
this has been the only thing that has helped me. I won't touch another pharmaceutical drug. In my opinion doctors do not know what to do with this condition.

oh and I also take senna or some type of bowel cleanse every day. my natural doctor says it is very important to keep the bowels moving a lot so you are ridding of toxins. so before using any type of cleansing product be sure you are pooping 2-3 times a day.

Agree with your ideas
I think I am thinking along the same lines as you. There has got to be some bacteria/yeast that isn't being seen by doctors since foods/cleanses have such an impact for people. Have you read the thing that Ria did on here...a total juicing cleanse? I tried e-mailing her for more details. I can tell doctors are clueless too. I have seen 2 gynos, 1 derm, and 1 natural doctor idiot. Before doing any tests or listening to me the vulvar pain 'specialist' says its nerve damage. I don't buy that since I find it pretty unlikely I had nerve damage 5 days after that UTI. I asked the gyno to run some tests on me...and she didn't think any 'tests' are necessary. The jerk....

yes, I am going to email ria for more info. I am willing to do a juice cleanse, or raw food diet. my diet has been so limited the past couple years that it really doesn't matter anymore. And btw, I have ph tested my urine, but after I started cleansing etc. It was always lower in the morning, which is normal, but usually hovered around 7. testing urine is actually unreliable because it is so dependent on what you just ate or drank.

testing
Did your natural doctor do allergy testing too on you? Is that how you learned what foods to avoid? Or, was it just trial and error? I did do purely raw for about 1 week back in May I think...and I thought I got worse during that week so I stopped cold turkey on it. Now, I wonder if maybe everyone gets worse at first when cleansing their body. Not sure. Did you get worse before better while going to the natural doctor?

stress
Also, does stress affect your condition? I don't think you can get much more stressed than what I have had to deal with for the past year. And, its not easy trying to focus on being happy while watching another parent get diagnosed with cancer. Although, this time its breast cancer Stage 2, versus De-Differentiated Chondrosarcoma Stage 4 (which is what dad had).
