Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hello, Im back. Last time I posted, I was very discouraged as I felt my interstitial cystitus was back, and incurable after everything Ive tried, after all Ive gone thru for a year.
However, after another cultureless urine sample, and me begging the doctor in tears for "One more round" of Bactrim, It cured the problem, it seems, even tho I still seemed to have some pain, and sensitivity to acidic foods, but its nothing like before. Every day it gets less and less. He told me I had a protazoa bladder infection way back in Sept, and Im thinkin that may have been the culprit to a year long nitemare with my bladder.

The vag however, acted up on me again, and I had to rotate my oils. So far, things are under control, but it seems I cant go one day without inserting oils of some kind, and my now Husband and I wanna try for a baby, but I cant with a bunch of oils up there! Plus oral is out of the question, as I smell like essential oils!!

its really put a damper on my sex life to say the least.

anywhoo..been depressed about this, as I had sex about 4 times and got a brand new infection, and Im currently treating with 00 gel caps filled with my latest oil concoction::
3 drops Cypress, 3 drops Ylang ylang, 1 to 2 drops Eucalyptus (strong), and 1 drop Clove (strong). It burns a bit, but Im used to it by now,. and evening primrose oil (healing vaginal tissues, lubrication).

Im also doing betadine iodine douches in the morning, and sometimes evening, then insert the gel caps, two to 3 times a day. I tried peroxide/water douches, (too harsh on the tissues, makes things worse)

Im good, but it seems when I stop using the oils, the itching and burning comes back, after one or two days. Before this latest infection, I could go days without the oils, and then when I start to have sex again, I get another infection after awhile...

im just glad my chronic bladder infection is gone.

Im Back, Ic is cured, VV still battling Empty the oils do help

Post  lavrose Fri Jan 18, 2013 2:25 am

I just want to add, the oils really have given me my sex life back, and the ability to go thruout the day, without being aware of how uncomfortable my vagina was s all the time.

it just seems like, after I start having sex again. it starts to get irritated again, and comes back, then I have to get on the oils again, and then I feel better, but it takes a couple weeks of doing these oils constantly, it seems like I have to use the oils almost everyday, just to be functional, is what Im saying, and its frustrating. Its a proven fact the these oils will kill sperm, so its hard to just be normal, and maybe get pregnant. Its so hard to explain to my husband.

I went years being in pain, before the oils

Im Back, Ic is cured, VV still battling Empty Hello

Post  lavrose Sun Feb 10, 2013 9:14 pm

Thats great!! I think in some cases VV really is a physical/structural problem, and physical therapy is def necessary, and thats awesome that your getting better. Try primrose oil for lubrication/irritation, Ive read good things about it,and I like it!

About 4 days in the Betadine douches, I stopped the oils completely, as it was really irritating me and not helping me this time. (like I said, clove oil has been known to melt plastic, SO please dont put that much up your flowers!!)
I have an industrial vag at this point, Ive been putting so many crazy substances up there for so long.

I just did the betadine by itself this time, and it worked great!
