Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Hello ladies,
Does anyone suffer with sores down Ther? My provoked pain has gone but I still getting sores down there. I don't know how to make them go quickly.
Very hard being at work with something that started as a blister and quickly turned into wot I can only describe as an open sore :-( in so much pain today. Not sure how to cope with this. Any advice is appreciated.

Have you been tested for herpes? I don't know why you'd have open sores or what to do about it... maybe go to doc :/

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Yeah I've been tested for that already. It came back negative. It seems to be one of my symptoms, it came around the same time as the vulvadynia did and it's always in same place. I get a sore for a few weeks. Now I not getting pain anymore but these sores have still come up.. They are really painful like an ulcer on the outside of my vagina.
Doctor just says to wash it after I wee, wear baggy trousers and wait for it to go, be patient he says. Annoying cos having to work 5 days a week it's not possible to be like that in an office.
Just wasn't sure if maybe somone elae had or got this too? If anyone had advice on how to make them go quickly or dry them up.

Sorry I really dont have any advice for you, glad they aren't herpes though! Do they appear close to your period and do you use pads? Maybe an allergic reaction?

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
No they aren't in sync with my period. I think I get them when I'm stressed out and also if I get a bit sweaty down there. I haven't had them for ages but becos my provoked pain has gone now I've been having sex again lately with my bf and I got a feeling that it's brought these on. Typical isn't it... Lol I'm going to try and dry them out... Just not sure what to use..Once they dry out they are less painful and go quicker.
Im also glad they aren't herpes!
Thanks for replying :-)

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Yep i've had those. but mine don't usually open into sores that i have noticed. I do blister though. I also got them tested for herpies, and had blood tests too, and it was all negative. My gyno said they were 'mast cells' which i guess is the same as hives? I think they are related to allergies. Have you tried taking benadryl? that's what i use when i get those and they are usually gone quite quickly. If you have to work and you are not used to benadryl take aerius during the day and benadryl at night because it will make you sleepy. If you are on any meds check with the pharmacist first though, because anti histamines can be contraindicated with certain medications.
Some woman can be allergic to yeast, do you commonly get yeast?

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
PS did you use spermicide during sex? That's a really common allergy as well, as can be latex. I would def get them checked out by a gyno though. If you can.

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
That's intersting cos I think I have thrush atm... I think I will try anti allergy tabs and see what happens. In waiting to get paid tomorow to buy a thrush tab as I've been told to not use the creme anymore. So I'll grab some anti allergy too. Looking back maybe I do get these when I have thrush! Worth trying anti allergys
I have put some Dead Sea salt on them today to try and dry them up too, a freind recommended that.
No I dont use anything like that. We use yes lube and that's it.
Thanks for your advice yoginimom :-) how are things with you "down there"? X

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
I already got them checked the last time with my gyno and she tested them and said it was negative for anything. She thinks it's caused by stress but I'm not so sure

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Did they test you for both herpes type 1 and type 2?
It really does sound like that or a severe allergic reaction. Maybe even a form of chemical burn?
Did they swab the sore/blister? That would be able to tell you if it is a bacterial infection.

Yep been tested for both. And they swabbed the sore and tested that. Evwryrhing comes back negative...
It's defo not herpes, I never even get cold sores..
I'm thinking it's an allergic reaction to somink. I been using Dead Sea salt on it in evenings atm. It kills for about half hour but then feels better, doesn't last tho...but I want to find out how to make them go quicker.
Got my mates birthday today so annoying that these are here for today.

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Sparkle, if it is hives, try an oatmeal bath. I just bumped a thread for you that has links to recipes where you can make your own. Or you can buy pre made packets at the drug store. Also ask the pharmacist about the best antihistamine for allergic reactions. Because the kind of antihistamines for seasonal allergies wont help at all. (Been there tried that!) The only one that really works for me is benedryl. I will take aerius though sometimes if i have to work because it's non drowsy, but it doesn't work quite as quickly.

Re: Sores down there, blisters turned into open sores
Ahh ok thanks for that. I'm starting to think it must be an allergic reaction to something coa I don't see what else it could be. Yeah I'm going to go to pharmaxy tomorow wen I finish work.
How's things with you? Did u get your test results bk? Are u any closer to finding out what's causing yours?
