Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. Just want to share my symptom...are yours the same?
Hi again,
I read a lot of the post and I know I'm in the right spot. Do some of you get anxious, feel that maybe the were wrongly diagnosed all kinds of thing like that..I went through all the hoops with urology, neurology always neg testing....stil in pain..finally obgym said vulvodynia...Ok I beleive him and he is kind and really want to bring me back to a normal life again.
My symptoms to me feels like my urethra is always burning..and tissues around it , not so much the labia parts...if my urine is concentrated it burn to pee and it burns a lot for a good 15 minutes after...I get sharp jabs shooting here and there...when I'm really bad I had jabs in my butt...
In the morning things are somewhat calm down there but as the day progresses it get worse..
exercice is out of question for now..the more i walk the worse it is. Cant have anything rub me.
so are these symptoms like any of you girls...I just want some feedback so that I know I.\'m not going crazy and my head wounders everywhere.....
Thanks a bunch

Re: Just want to share my symptom...are yours the same?
Hi hun
I can get pain just about anywhere within the vulval area.
it is mainly the Vestibule part but over the last 6 months or so I have developed stinging and tenderness around the urethra. It got so bad once I had to take a good look lol and it looked red (Im not sure if it was suppossed to be lol as I had never really looked at that part before) and when I touched the tissues it was soooo stingy! It kinda comes and goes. but of course anything rubbing the area when it is sore, makes it flare up. Im gonna ask at my vulval clinic appt about this
Re: Just want to share my symptom...are yours the same?
I can relate your anxiety about the vulvodyina diagnosis. The problem is that the diagnosis is just a description of symptoms and doesn't indicate the cause, so we are always left wondering whether some underlying issue has been overlooked. I was sure when I was diagnosed that really I had a yeast infection, as I had exactly the same symptoms as when I had them many times before. However, the last test came back negative so it was diagnosed as vulvodynia. I've since read theories about candida (the cause of yeast infections) turning into its 'red form' and burrowing under the skin, continuing to cause irritation but leading to negative test results and I think this may be what's going on, as the symptoms still respond to antifungals (e.g. drinking cinnamon tea).
As to my symptoms: I get itching or burning pain (which increases with any kind of contact) around my vulva and anus. I also get lower abdominal pain and digestive discomfort at the same time usually. Sometimes I get the UTI-like symtoms around the urethra you describe when peeing also, it comes and goes.
