Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

pain clinic tomorrow morning!!!
Ive got my pain clinic appointment tomorrow morning like 9.15am! Im suppossed to talk about my vulva at 9.15am!!
Anyway I have made loadsa notes, mainly from this forum...fanx guys for the advice!! I want to ask about the painkilling options such as the anti-convulsants, nerve blockers etc and also about physical therapy
I do hope I have at least an understanding doctor who even though may not have treated this before is willing to help!
Wish me luck ladies

Re: pain clinic tomorrow morning!!!
Good luck Sebby, I'm sure you'll be fine! If it's any reassurance I've been prescribed Amitriptyline for my joint problems but I do find it also decreases the vulvar pain too (although I am like a zombie too unfortunately!) so painkillers of various kinds do help with the symptoms while we look for solutions. Ask them anything you want to and don't be shy!

good luck chick!!!!!!
Ive got everything crossed for you!!
Ask if you can get their email address...when Ive seen some people they dont mind and its good for asking any questions you might have forgotten to ask.
Also ask for their direct line, quite often ive found some consultants have about 6 blummin secretarys and you end up doing the rounds!!
let us know how it goes xxxxx

Re: pain clinic tomorrow morning!!!
Sorry sorry...
Had an odd day yesterday went out after the appointment and fell straight to sleep on the sofa when I got in so now my neck hurts...lol
Ok well the doctor at least had heard of the condition, so thats a good start!
He said he has treated it before and wants to try nerve block injections first. I think I will try this first as taking the anti-convulsant meds scares me more. Mum has taken Pregabalin before and had a very bad reaction to it so Im a little nervous.
I have to wait now for my appointment for the nerve block injection. He said they give it in the lower back..Im scared!
Has anyone else had these? Does it hurt!!! I dont know why Im so worried Ive had tatoo's! My aunt said she has had it and it wasnt too bad
Also how long does it last? I was told 6 weeks?
Also he said if this one doesnt work he will try a peroneal nerve block and they also do something called peroneal nerve stimulation in St Thomas Hospital in London which can help reduce the pain? I will have to look this up!
I was wondering if there are also any side effects with the nerve block? Ive been too scared to Google it at the moment! I have been living in the 'ignorance is bliss' place lol
Im just hoping that it helps with the pain even just reducing it will do me. I also hope it doesnt errrrr how do I put this interfer with any sexual feelings down there hahaha
Thanks for thinking of me girls
Godbless

Re: pain clinic tomorrow morning!!!
fingers crossed for you Sebby. Ok 'everything' crossed!
Maybe they could numb the area before the injection? or cool it? when I had ingrowing toe nails (still do dohhhh) they rubbed a cooling, numbing gel on. Ask about that poss?

Re: pain clinic tomorrow morning!!!
Do you mean pudendal nerve block rather than peroneal? The pundendal nerve is one of 3 main ones that supplies the vulva and is in the actual pelvis itself. The physio I saw yesterday said they can use the biofeedback machines to stimulate the pudendal nerve but I haven't actually had it done.
