Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

does a vestibulectomy change the look of the vagina
Hi, I'm new. I'm having a vestibulectomy on August 5th. I've had provoked/primary vulvodynia since the beginning of my sex life (age 16), I'm now 29. I'm ready to have the vestibulectomy but one thing scares me: How will my vagina look after surgery? I really don't want it to look any different or change for the worst. Everything is nicely in tact down there now. So I guess my question is how will a vestibulectomy change my vagina if at all? It would be horrible to have the surgery and then be self concious about how my vagina looks.

No it doesn't at all at least mine didn't. But even if it did do you really want to have pain the rest of your life? If a guy is looking there at all I'm assuming he wouldn't notice or care lol

Re: does a vestibulectomy change the look of the vagina
Hi stlgirl21
I had a full vestibulectomy in July of last year. I was also worried about what I'd look like "down there" after surgery as well. After the surgery and being fully healed I didn't really notice a difference. A full vestibulectomy takes away more skin than a partial so there is a slight difference, but nothing significant. If anything I think mine looks better. It almost looks tighter, haha.
Which type of vestibulectomy are you getting? A full or partial?

Thank you ladies for the replies. That gives me hope! I am having a full vestibulectomy. I will definitely ask for before and after photos, I had not thought about that. Alana and Jen, are you happy with the overall outcome of your vestibulectomy? Is your sex life less painless or completely pain free? How many weeks or months before I can start having intercourse?

I had partial I was fine after 6 weeks but still haven't had sex. However my exams arent painful so I know I could. Remember everyone is different so if it takes longer than 6 weeks don't get discouraged. I would do it again if I had to it was well worth it in my.opinion. who's doing it for u

As far as I know I'm getting a full done. My doctor is in Phoenix his name is Dr. Brooks. I chose to travel because there seems not to be any top notch specialists here in St. Louis where I live.

I sure hope everything works out. My boyfriend has been patient so far. For our sake, I hope the surgery will give me a pain free sex life.

How did your vestibulectomy go? I know it's still early for you to see how sex goes with it, but I would like to know about your pain levels and mobility. It looks like I'm having one in December and I'm trying to prepare.
