Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:55 pm by flissyg

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

New Doctor + Colposcopy Empty New Doctor + Colposcopy

Post  mmorgan Tue Oct 04, 2011 3:24 pm

I went to my appointment with a NEW doctor yesterday. Turns out the last doctor I went to was his "partner", so any bashing I did he took up for her. This new doctor is so kind and wonderful (so far), a doctor who actually sat down and explained everything to me (though most information I already knew considering how when I don't know stuff, I have a tendency to google it. hehe.) If any of you have read any of my previous posts, my last pap-smear came back abnormal. I have an appointment to do a Colposcopy on the 11th and it seems as if all my right-hand people have work so I will be attending this solo. Sad Which I'm extremely nervous about considering a biopsy might be taken. Can anyone shed their experiences if they have ever had a Colposcopy done?

I also explained to him my burning that has been going on for five months now. I made sure to ask him if he has ever heard of "Vulvodynia" and he said yes. Very Happy Then proceeded to ask questions like "Are you able to have intercourse" "Where does it burn", already a step ahead then the last doctor. I explained to him that it seems like the burning dies down before my period then picks up a bit when I start then picks up again after. Since I'm menstruating now he said he would take a look on Tuesday when I'm not bleeding. I told him that the last gyne said she thought it was yeast without confirming under a microscope and he said that most doctors don't looks under a microscope because your always going to see yeast whether infection or not. He had my previous records and I asked him what medicine did she proscribe (I didn't pick it up because I didn't want to apply something that could worsen the burning). It was a cream that started with a "T" and is suppose to kill all strains of yeast? I've hard bad things about creams so I'm even hesitant to apply pale. I take daily Acidophilus and have been doing do before this started so I'm highly doubtful it could be yeast? Any idea's?

Birth control was also mentioned, and I at all cost I want to stear clear of that. I explained that it upped my pain to an 8 and once I got off of it about 2 months later I was at pain level 2 or 3.

Sorry for blabbing but I'm excited with this NEW doctor and not so excited about this procedure. Suspect
Just have to suck it up and hope for the best!

New Doctor + Colposcopy Empty Re: New Doctor + Colposcopy

I had my appointment yesterday and a biopsy was taken. Now I have to wait two weeks to find out the results and where we should go from here. I hope that I don't have to have leep or the freeze procedure done. So looks like my "burning" problem is put on that back "burner" till this gets sorted out. I can only imagine what this guy is thinking, "Man, this girl has a lot of gyno problems!"

On another note I've noticed that there hasn't been a lot of activity going on in the forum lately and I just hope everyone is doing wonderful and it's because everyone is having "pain-free days"! Very Happy

Do people get pain free days with this?? I'd like to know how they do it if they do! Well done for getting through the appointment but don't be surprised if your biopsy shows nothing except unspecified inflammation. hope you get some answers from it. I haven't a clue where everyone has gone, I know Sebby is under the weather right now now but as for the other long term regulars and moderators I haven't the faintest. If they've recovered I'd love them to return to share how they did it!
